Quick answer

Which GST returns do I file, and when?

Most businesses file GSTR-1 by the 11th and GSTR-3B by the 20th of every month. Businesses with turnover up to ₹5 crore can file quarterly under QRMP, and nil returns must still be filed when there are no sales.

What we do every month

  • Collect your sales and purchase bills, whether you use Tally, Zoho, Excel or send photos on WhatsApp.
  • Match your purchase bills with GSTR-2B, so you only claim input tax credit that your suppliers have actually reported. We flag suppliers who have not filed.
  • Prepare GSTR-1 with your B2B invoices, credit notes and HSN summary.
  • Prepare GSTR-3B, work out the tax payable and share the amount for payment.
  • File after your approval and send you the filed copies.
  • Help with e-invoices and e-way bills if your business needs them.

What late filing costs

  • Late fee on GSTR-3B: ₹50 per day (₹20 per day for nil returns), up to a maximum.
  • Interest at 18% a year on tax paid late.
  • Your customers cannot claim input tax credit on invoices you have not reported, which often delays their payments to you.
  • Continued non-filing can lead to your registration being cancelled.

Behind on returns? We can file your pending months, work out the late fees and interest, and bring your GSTIN back to a clean status.

How it works

  1. Agree a monthly routine. You send bills by the 5th of each month (or we pick them up from your software).
  2. We reconcile and prepare GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B and send you a one-page summary.
  3. You approve and pay the tax through net banking.
  4. We file and confirm on WhatsApp with the acknowledgement.

I had a complicated GST issue due to an error in my GSTR-1 filing... Then I connected with Jerome, and my experience was completely different. He did not ask for any payment initially and patiently guided me over the phone. He has excellent knowledge of GST and took the time to understand my case in detail... I have now become his client, and I highly recommend him to anyone facing GST or ITR-related issues

Common questions

Do I need to file GST returns if I had no sales?

Yes. Nil returns must still be filed by the due date. Missing them attracts late fees and can lead to cancellation of your registration.

What is GSTR-2B and why does it matter?

GSTR-2B is a monthly statement on the GST portal showing the purchase invoices your suppliers have reported. You should claim input tax credit only on invoices that appear there. Claiming more is one of the most common reasons for GST notices.

Can I file quarterly instead of monthly?

If your turnover is up to ₹5 crore, you can opt for the QRMP scheme and file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B quarterly, while paying tax monthly. We help you decide if it suits your business.

Can you file my returns for past months?

Yes. We file pending returns in order, calculate the late fee and interest, and tell you the total before we file.

What do I need to send each month?

Your sales invoices, purchase bills, credit or debit notes, and any expense bills with GST. Photos or PDFs on WhatsApp are fine.
